よう + とする to express an intention to do something
You can use よう＋とする when you speak about a person who has an intention of doing something.
ru-verbs (1st group) :
食べる : 食べよう → 食べようとする
見る : 見よう → 見ようとする
見る : 見よう → 見ようとする
u-verbs (5th group):
乗る noru : 乗ろう norou → 乗ろうとする
待つ matsu : 待とう matou→ 待とうとする
乗る noru : 乗ろう norou → 乗ろうとする
待つ matsu : 待とう matou→ 待とうとする
Exceptions:
する → しようとする
くる → こようとする

兄は、全部食べようとした。
