### に対たいして

This expression 'に対して' is used to indicate a contrast or comparison between two things. 

1) Adjectives -na : Adjective + のに対たいして 

2) Noun : Noun + なのに対たいして

 長男ちょうなんは内向的ないこうてきなのに対たいして、次男じなんは外向的がいこうてきです。 

The eldest is introverted while the younger is extroverted.

 　明日あした、関東かんとうは晴はれるのに対たいして関西かんさいは雨あめでしょう。 

Tomorrow, it will be sunny in the Kanto region, on the other hand, it will rain in the Kansai region.

Associate the following two sentences using the expression 対たいして. 

彼女かのじょは勉強熱心べんきょうねっしんです。彼かれはあまり勉強べんきょうをしません。

Answer →

彼女かのじょは勉強熱心べんきょうねっしんなのに対たいして、彼かれはあまり勉強べんきょうをしません。

 

猫ねこは、静しずかだ。犬いぬはうるさい。

Answer →

猫ねこは、静しずかなのに対たいして、犬いぬはうるさい。

### 一方で

The expression 一方いっぽうで  is used to talk about two sides of a fact.

  

1) Verb  : Verb + 一方いっぽうで 

 

2) Adjectives -na : Adjective + 一方いっぽうで 

 

3) Adjectives -i : Adjective  +な/である/だった(past) +一方いっぽうで 

 

4) Noun : Noun +である/だった(past)+一方いっぽうで

In Japan, there are good sides and bad sides.

Associate the following two sentences using the expression 一方いっぽうで.

全体的ぜんたいてきにうまく行いった一方いっぽうで、課題かだいも残のこった。

子供こどもが減へる。高齢者こうれいしゃの数かずは増ふえ続つづける。

Answer →

子供こどもが減へる一方いっぽうで、高齢者こうれいしゃの数かずは増ふえ続つづける。

### かわりに

The expression かわりに can also be written in kanji as 代わりに.

This expression is used to talk about two sides of a fact, but also to mean "instead of" .

  

1)Verb : Verb (casual) + かわりに 

 

2)Noun : Noun + の + かわりに 

 

3)その + かわりに
